Raycom Media is recruiting a Digital Features Director to lead a team of journalists and producers in creating lifestyle and information content for our digital properties.  

 

You will be responsible for the creation and curation of content designed to be sharable, consumer focused, and engaging.  You’ll take the lead in making sure what we produce is tailored to the digital formats our audiences demand, with an increasing focus on creating video and social media content.   You’ll also ensure our stories are distributed to our television stations, digital brands and social media channels.  

 

The Digital Features Director will be based in Atlanta at our Digital Content Center.  As part of our leadership team, the Digital Features Director will partner with our news, social media and analytics directors to ensure we are telling great stories and growing our audience.

 

The ideal candidate will have

  • Impeccable editorial judgement, writing and digital storytelling skills
  • 5+ years managerial experience in a digital newsroom
  • Full understanding of digital analytics and how to use them to shape editorial decisions
  • Understanding of social media landscape and how digital news content is consumed and distributed
  • Familiarity with CMS, digital editing tools
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and on deadline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, television/film or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
