Producer – The Southern Weekend

 

Are you a television and digital producer who loves to eat, travel and experience all the amazing things the South offers?  Can you find fascinating people, places and things to do and turn those stories into engaging programming for broadcast and digital distribution?  Are you an experienced communicator who can work well with talent, interview subjects and sponsored content clients alike?  If so, come join the adventure at The Southern Weekend.

 

The Southern Weekend is a cross-platform food, travel and lifestyle brand created by Raycom Media.  We’re looking for a producer who can do it all… pre-production, coordinating and overseeing location shoots, field production, script writing and managing the editing and post production process.  You’ll also contribute and create content for our digital properties, including thesouthernweekend.com. 

                                                                                            

This position is based out of Atlanta and will spend considerable time travelling across the South.

 

What you need to be successful—

  • 3-5 years experience as a television field producer with a proven track record of creating engaging television and digital content
  • Passion for food and travel
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • An ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
  • Be great to work with. We’re a small team who loves working together, and we want to work with someone we love 
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Our program

Our 1-hour show airs six times a year across Raycom’s 65 owned and operated television stations, which are primarily located in the Southeast.
