"Black Almanac," which airs Sunday mornings on ABC 7 is the longest airing, locally produced, public affairs program in the Southeastern United States.
WWSB ABC 7, in Sarasota, FL is looking for an experienced Journalist who will host and produce a weekly public affairs program. The program will cover such topics as confronting social injustice and major community issues on the Suncoast.
The right candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills. The candidate must have a great work ethic, the ability to research the issues important to the Suncoast community, and be able to develop relationships and attract guests for a panel to discuss those important issues.
This job does require producing for both broadcast and digital platforms. A Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field is strongly desired as well as the ability to shoot and edit video. Also, the right individual should have at least 1 year of experience as an MMJ and/or anchor at a Television station, not including a student-run television station. Candidate must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and MVR check.
