    WOIO - Weekend Split Shift Meteorologist (Weekend mornings and evenings, other shifts as scheduled).  Serve as primary meteorologist for challenging weekend shifts. Produce, prepare and present accurate forecasts for all multi-platform weather content including live TV weather. Responsible for generating all the weather/forecasting maps and graphics including digital content and push alerts using station’s WSI Max weather system.


    Must be collaborative and display team work with TV and digital news and weather teams. Write, produce and deliver weather content including cut-ins during network and syndicated programs. Must be able to present content in a creative and unique manner to grow on-air and online audiences. Must remain current on the latest trends in weather forecasting and on-air presentation. Must participate enthusiastically in content critiques and respond positively to coaching and feedback from news management and news consultants hired by the station. Must be capable of reporting live on weather and science related content. Must be equipped to participate in station promotional events and public appearances as required. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology. Minimum three (3) years of experience required as a broadcast Meteorologist. Must be high tech savvy with regard to weather graphics and weather forecasting tools. CBM, AMS and NWA seal of approval preferred. Must be able to write and present complex material in a conversation, easy to understand manner and with personality. Must work well under pressure and demonstrate teamwork in a fast- paced environment.
