Social Media Director   Are you a social media expert, with a proven track record of engaging audiences?  Can you lead a team in creating video, social media, and digital content which will break through the social media clutter?  Would you like to join an innovative group dedicated to producing and distributing quality news and information content in a rapidly changing media environment?   If so, we’d like to talk with you.   Raycom Media is looking for a Social Media Director to lead the creation and curation of social media content at our new Digital Content Center in Atlanta.  We’re looking for someone who understands how to create and promote engaging content which is clickable, sharable, and supports our digital brands.   This key position will drive social media strategy and execution in collaboration with a team charged with providing a full breadth of national and international news and lifestyle content serving 40+ local media properties and more than 10M social media followers. We need someone with a full understanding of social media best practices and can use metrics to drive editorial content creation and distribution.    As part of our leadership team, the Social Media Director will partner with our news, features and analytics directors to ensure we are telling great stories and growing our audience.   The ideal candidate will have - 3-5 years leading a social media team - Complete understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc and what works on each platform - Familiarity with digital tools and analytics such as Buffer, Crowdtangle - Skills to turn both hard news and softer news into social-friendly content - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability and desire to lead and teach your skills to others - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience   Here’s some information about us   Our location Raycom’s Digital Content Center is based in Atlanta, Georgia.     Our audiences We have a digital audience of more than 40-million unique users each month.  They use our websites, apps and mobile products to find out what is happening in our communities, country and the world.  We also have more than 9 million people who like and follow our brands on Facebook. We like them too.           Our story Raycom Media is a growing team of nearly 5,000 people, dedicated to our communities and great story telling while providing marketing solutions for our clients.  With more than 65 television stations and digital brands, we bring news and information to consumers in 44 markets across 20 states every single day across multiple platforms.  Our Pure Cars team, based out of Atlanta and Charleston, is the digital leader in automotive advertising solutions.   Tupelo-Raycom, is our exciting sports and entertainment production group based in New York and Indianapolis.  In Charlotte, you will find Raycom Sports, a production, marketing and events management team, second to none.
