Responsibilities include: switch station breaks and programming analog and digital channels, record satellite program feeds, segment syndicated programming, record newscast for playback, and check quality of program feeds prior to air time. Operate automation airplay system: DVC Pro tape machines. Dub commercials, promos and PSA's for air. Check next days logs for missing material. Keep accurate transmitter and program logs. Good mathematical, computer and internet skills are necessary. Must be able to work over nights and weekends and holidays. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

KFVS-TV has an opening for a Sports Specialist/Video Journalist. The successful candidate for this position will be one who can complete daily sports stories for our digital platforms as well as turn daily packages as needed in our newscasts. They must be a self-starter, with good organizational skills, and able to deliver compelling sports news on all platforms under tight, pressure packed deadlines. This includes a leading presence on KFVS12.com, Facebook, Twitter and our other digital platforms. Must be able to produce and anchor sports newscasts as scheduled.
The candidate must demonstrate strong photography skills shooting all sports. Storytelling must also be demonstrated on your reel. Sports knowledge is critical, but it must go beyond the X’s and O’s and drive the emotion and amazing stories that exist across the board in sports and all of its athletes. Local sports is our bread and butter so breaking stories with area contacts is also key. Candidates must be energetic, team oriented, driven, have solid news/sports judgment and have strong reporting and live skills. He or she must excel at breaking news/sports coverage from the studio and in the field. Exceptional planning and creative storytelling are a must – a flexible schedule is part of the job with sports events happening throughout the week.
