KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Multi-Media Journalist whose storytelling is equally impactful in the field and on the anchor desk.
Online reporting will be a major part of this reporter's responsibilities, so mastery of digital and social tools is a must. The successful candidate must also be able to write, shoot, edit, and present strong stories on video. This reporter must be skilled in all phases of storytelling, and thus ready to work alone in the field as required.
This position will include anchoring one or more weekend newscasts, so the successful candidate must have a strong presence on the anchor desk and in the newsroom.
Applicants must possess a four-year college degree and have at least three years experience reporting and anchoring.

KFVS- Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor will assist the Engineering Manager in the management of building and equipment maintenance, manage building environmental and structural components, and ensure proper maintenance of broadcast equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will also help maintain the broadcast chain, ENG/RF systems, and encoding systems. This person will directly oversee maintenance engineers and guide them in completion of their duties and reaching department performance goals.
Summary of essential job functions:
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and assist in the performance of the following engineering functions by maintenance engineers.
- Maintain television and digital production technology, facilities and equipment for the company. Assist in maintenance of the IT network, switches, work stations, laptops and printers.
- Perform routine equipment/facility maintenance.
- Assist with system integration and modification of TV/IT systems, and communicate with other departments to contribute to the resolution of equipment and system performance issues.
- Assist in maintenance of company servers and computer equipment. Work with corporate IT as needed to maintain performance.
- Assist in monitoring of facility’s environmental and security systems.
Minimum requirements and abilities:
- Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- At least 15 years’ experience as a technical engineer in broadcast or related industry
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, must be self-motivated.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
- Strong PC/MS Office experience.
- Experience with video cameras, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems, editing systems.

KFVS-TV is searching for a Weekend Sports Anchor/News MMJ who can make their mark in America’s Heartland. The successful candidate for this job will be one who can complete daily stories for our digital platforms as well as turn packages as needed in our newscasts. They must be a self-starter, with good organizational skills, and able to deliver compelling news on all platforms under tight, pressure packed deadlines. This includes a leading presence on KFVS12.com, Facebook, Twitter and our other digital platforms.
Our successful candidate must demonstrate strong photography and storytelling skills. The ability to show emotion, good audio, and lighting must be demonstrated on your reel. Sports knowledge is critical, but it must go beyond the X’s and O’s and drive the emotion of agony and victory in our athletes.
Breaking stories with area contacts is also key.
Candidates must be energetic, driven, have solid news/sports judgment, have strong reporting and live skills. He or she must excel at breaking news/sports coverage from the studio and in the field. A flexible schedule is part of the job.
